Use the result as a planning estimate
These terms apply when you use Rain Tank Planner, a free, independent rainwater planning service.
Informational scope
The service compares simplified historical storage scenarios for preliminary non-potable water planning. It does not provide engineering, plumbing, structural, architectural, health, water-quality, fire-safety, financial, or legal advice. A highlighted capacity is a transparent comparison rule—not a recommendation to buy or install that tank.
You are responsible for checking source suitability, measurements, future demand, product specifications, site conditions, permits, water rights, rebates, building rules, plumbing codes, and professional requirements that apply where the system would be installed.
No guarantee
Historical modeled or measured rainfall does not guarantee future performance. Grid data can differ from rain at a roof, uploaded data can contain errors, and the model omits many real-system effects. The service is provided on an “as available” basis without a promise of uninterrupted availability, a particular result, savings, or fitness for a project.
Acceptable use
You may use and export calculation results for personal or commercial planning. Do not overload, probe, disrupt, bypass limits, automate abusive requests, introduce malicious content, misrepresent the service, or use it for an unlawful purpose. Access may be limited to protect the service or its data provider.
Sources and intellectual property
Supplier links help you explore nominal tank sizes. The site does not sell tanks, verify current prices or stock, or guarantee delivery to your address. Capacity matching is not confirmation of product suitability. Any purchase is made directly with the supplier under its terms.
NASA POWER and other linked sources retain their own rights, policies, and attribution requirements. Rain Tank Planner does not imply endorsement by NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy, or any linked organization. The site design, explanatory text, and application code remain the operator’s material except where another source or licence is identified.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for a purchase, installation, compliance decision, loss, damage, or missed water supply based on this preliminary estimate. Nothing here removes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes and governing law
The service and these terms may change as the model develops. The date above identifies the current version. Norwegian law governs these terms, without limiting mandatory consumer protections or other rights that apply in your country.
